Full broadcast, partial broadcast, and why it matters
- Full broadcast — chips to refusal. Dense, granite-like, the most forgiving surface we install.
- Partial broadcast — base color shows through. Cheaper, but it shows every patch on a repaired slab.
- The honest rule: repaired concrete gets full broadcast. We’ll tell you which yours is at the estimate.
How the install runs
Four steps, no surprises
You will know the schedule, the price and the cure dates before we start grinding.
Pick the blend in person
Physical sample boards at the quote — flake never looks the same on a screen as on a floor.
Grind and repair the slab
Diamond grinding with dust control, then crack, pit and spall repair done properly.
Base coat and broadcast
Base down, chips broadcast by hand to refusal — even coverage into corners and along walls.
Scrape, vacuum, seal
Scraped flat, vacuumed, then clear urethane — non-slip aggregate if the floor gets wet.

Does flake feel rough underfoot?
Fine orange-peel texture, not rough — comfortable barefoot, easy to mop, and noticeably more grip than a smooth coating when wet. Want more? We broadcast fine aggregate into the topcoat.
Can I mix my own colors?
Yes — blends mix from stock chips, and we mix samples and bring them out. Judge a blend flat on the floor in the room's own light.
How does flake compare to metallic on price?
The middle: more than solid color, less than metallic. Metallic is for floors meant to be looked at; flake for floors meant to be used.
